Engine & Performance: The MX450 is powered by a liquid-cooled 449.9cc single-cylinder, DOHC, four-stroke engine that has been tested in the Dakar Rally. It features Bosch fuel injection and is designed for a smooth yet powerful delivery. The engine mapping and gearbox have seen updates in the 2026 model, with a new motocross-specific gearbox expected to address earlier feedback about tall first gear on the previous, rally-derived version.
Chassis & Weight: It utilizes a high-strength chromoly steel perimeter frame with an aluminum subframe, contributing to its exceptionally light weight of approximately 102 kg (225 lbs) dry, making it one of the lightest in its class.
Suspension & Brakes: The bike is equipped with fully adjustable, long-travel suspension components by KYB forks. Braking is handled by Taisko hydraulic disc components (290mm front, 240mm rear), with some enduro versions featuring a dual-ABS system for added safety.
Ergonomics & Electronics: The bike features slim, minimalist bodywork, a flat seat profile, and multiple handlebar/footpeg positions for a tailored fit. It includes modern features like a digital LCD cockpit, full LED lighting, electric start, switchable engine maps, and optional launch control/quick shift systems.
